SpaceX’s Falcon 9 launches off Pad 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on the CRS-20 Mission to resupply the International Space Station. This photo is taken just after stage separation. The surreal effects are caused by the gases of the Stage 1 boostback burn colliding with the gasses of the second stage engine in the vacuum of space.
